As a therapist, these guests should have never been brought on a show of this nature to display their genuine fears, in front of a host and audience who do not understand phobias. Often, phobias are the result of trauma (mustard squirted in the young lady's eyes and the resulting burning sensation in her eyes). People have had heart attacks, panic attacks, and some have died due to deliberate exposure to phobias. You do not "flood" people with exposure to a phobia! It is a process of gradual exposure according to what the client can handle until full exposure is acceptable.
